MALAGA CRIME MANAGEMENT FORUM
HAPPY NEW YEAR

I trust all of you had a FANTASTIC Christmas and an excellent
New Year.
Your award winning Malaga Crime Management Forum is back and
in full swing with 2010 shaping up to be a brilliant year!
As you might be aware MCMF won a major award in 2009 through
the Australian Heads of Government and the Ministerial Council
for Police and Emergency Management. The program being the Australian
Crime and Violence Prevention Awards. Myself, Mel Congerton and
Ian Robinson were invited to Parliament House to receive our
Certificate of Merit from Rob Johnson the Minister of Police;
Emergency Services; Road Safety.
Just between me and you I should have Googled Mr Johnson to
see what he looked like first, so I might have saved myself from
an embarrassing “Who is he?” when being introduced
to him.
Lucky Minister Johnson was very gracious about my faux pas!
OK 2010; what do we have in store – all I can say is cameras;
cameras; cameras. It is our intention to secure more funding
so we can saturate the Malaga business district. We want you
guys to feel safe after all!
Graffiti is also our priority; watch this space because we are
working hard to negotiate a major deal which will benefit everyone…
CRIME FORUM EXPO! We are at the beginning stages of organising
this extravaganza! There will be stalls for businesses to showcase
their products or services, yummy food, drinks, freebies and
much more. To register your interest for a stall please email
me at
The stalls will vary from surveillance products to lighting
to security fencing. If your business has any security type product
or service we want to hear from you.
We have more exciting things happening, one of them being setting
up our website. This is brilliant because you will have access
to all the initiatives taking place within your business community.
It will also, among other things, be a place for you to have
your say with our public forum page.
And as always, my door, email and phone are always open to you
so can voice your concerns, ask for advice or offer suggestions.
All in the name of keeping Malaga safe!
Until
next time keep vigilant and pro active in keeping your business free from crime.
